I still have the 4th grade picture and remember everyone in the class. Several Laurelton and AJHS reunions over the years (in NY and Fla.), have kept the flame burning as I catch up with old friends and memories. At JHS 59 my friends were Rita Simon, Ronnie Kanner, Linda Lee, Naomi Becker, Susan Bayliss and Raymond Wong.
I am a dentist and I have 2 grown daughters and 5 grandchildren. I have been married for 45 years to my wife, Carole. I lived on 228th Street until 1969 when I married and moved to New Jersey. I've reconnected with two Laurelton friends right here in Wellington. I went to the Junior High on Springfield Blvd, I think the number is 59, for the 9th grade. Some of the people I knew ( can't remember some last names ) were Yvette, Wilma, Eileen Arshansky, Lynette Brown, Marcia or Marsha Eisenberg (from Rosedale). I was also friends with a guy named Howard Levine who lived on the same street as me. I went to PS 176 and then the school system divided kids into the dumb ones and the smart ones. I am looking for pictures and friends from Laurelton and Rosedale from 1956 - 1971. I also worked for a Hardware Store from 1965 to 1969 on Saturdays. Not many Laurelton folks will remember me, as I did not attend local schools for grades 7-12. Would love to hear from the old LYAG/ATID crowd from LJC in late '60s. Living in Wheeling, IL - a Chicago suburb 1960 AJHS graduate. As anyone posting at this wonderful site knows, Laurelton will be in our hearts forever. I'm Ronnie and this website has brought back many memories. At lunchtime the girls played records in the cafeteria and we'd dance to the tunes of the 60's as the guys would play ping pong and pool and who would steal glances at us while we danced. It would have been nice if the "block busters" had not raped Laurelton and some of our friends and families still lived there. I've been living in California more than half my life, now, but I'm still a Yankee fan and a lover of NY pizza. I've lived in Israel for the last 35 years and have been a "Lubavitcher" (Chabad) for the past 23, and have a big, beautiful family of kids and grandkids. We had Brownies and Girl Scouts and Little League and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Currently have 38 years as a Volunteer Firefighter/Safety Officer/EMT-CC/Dept Secy/Engine Co Secy/Engine Driver/AHA/BCLS/CPR Instructor/Junior Firefighter Advisor in my current fire dept which now totals up to 50 years of volunteer service, including previous other corps and departments.
We proudly marched each year in the Memorial Day Parade. Was a charter member of Laurelton Volunteer Ambulance Corps 1964-1969.
Life is great - we are both retired and having fun in our Venetian Isles adult community. Helene Kuskin Currently living in Coral Springs, FL. Though I was not close with almost any of these kids, you can see how vivid are my memories of this time. My neighbors were Grace and Herb Pomfrey and my other neighbors were two brothers Stu and David and their sister Wendy. Would love to know what happened to Jerry Sobel and others. Ronnie and I were bathroom monitors, and someone stole our pocketbooks with our collection of bus passes. The boy-next-door was Neal Dreznin, and I sat on the bar of his bike and we rode all over town. Schneider, the 3rd grade teacher, lived on our block.

I have lived in Tampa FL for 21 years, with my wife of 40 years. I've recently reconnected with a few Laureltonians and that was lots of fun. Back in Laurelton it was Avolio and I lived at137-08 233 St. In the summer we sold lemonade on Merrick Road, and once we dug up the backyard for a mini golf course, and charged admission to play. Rand, the ever-patient children's librarian on 225th St.My address was 132-02 232 St.,the corner house down the block from the House of Chang, which my family always went once a week for dinner. I moved to Florida 14 years ago, but now live in PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
